about

The first release was the Eugene recorded self-titled album,

“The Bolsheviks” - 1992.
Limited Release: Approximately 5 Cassettes.

Legendary journeyman Jay Caruso was kind enough to make an early visit to the studio. He was also able to tap into our early 90‘s head space and lay down some of that blistering ‘Kyuss’ style guitar. This song was originally inspired by the marching-plodding style of the band Motorgoat (think early Quasi with a bass player). Clint & I got the chance to catch them at John Henry’s in Eugene, Oregon that Fall. Both of us had just come off a tumultuous summer resolving the dissolution of our Eugene band “The Butler and His Freaks” (Clint and bassist Steven Cebula remained together and would continue to play in the Eugene area for several years as the band, Marshal Plan).

I think with the track ‘Garter Belt’, we were sort of declaring, ‘let’s put an end to any petty arguments & bickering - let’s just start writing some ass-kicking-rock-n-roll!’ There was also some not so subtle Lou Reed influence upon the lyrics. I was moving to Portland within a few weeks of our recording sessions, so The Bolsheviks reign was expected to be a very short-lived one...

About:
We enjoy making music.

Biography:
We have all been victims of a musical nature. Join us in our therapy!

Instead of feeling forced to be a front man, I have decided to quit resisting and embrace it. We like to record an annual collection of songs and, every once in a while, even perform in public.

Please enjoy our various offerings!
